Middle Schools

  • Booker T. Washington Middle School (Booker T. Washington)

    Booker T. Washington, located at 1301 McCulloh Street, offers a comprehensive arts program including vocal, band, theater, dance, and media arts. It also features over 15 student clubs, a robust athletics program, and a robotics initiative. 

  • The Crossroads School (Crossroads)

    As a “Green School,” Crossroads emphasizes sustainability, innovation, and hands-on learning through robotics and mentoring opportunities. Students can join a variety of clubs and activities, including the Science Club, Robotics Club, and the B.U.G.S. Program, and participate in sports such as football, soccer, basketball, lacrosse, skateboarding, and snowboarding. Creative outlets include Theatre Club, Chess Club, and Anime Club, which provide students with opportunities to explore their interests and grow academically, socially, and personally. Enrollment is directly through the school and not part of the Choice process.

  • Dr. Nathan Pitts-Ashburton Elementary/Middle School (Ashburton)

    Recognized as a Green School, Ashburton is a smaller school in Northwest Baltimore. Students can participate in interscholastic sports while enjoying a learning environment focused on sustainability, growth, and engagement.

  • Hamilton Elementary/Middle School (Hamilton)

    Situated at 6101 Old Harford Road in Northeast Baltimore, Hamilton provides the Ingenuity Project (apply directly through Ingenuity), Algebra I, EGATE ELD, and a variety of clubs such as band, arts, robotics, scouts, sports, and drama. The school is also a certified Green School with an extensive outdoor garden and classroom.

  • Hampden Elementary/Middle School (Hampden)
    Hampden, located in North Baltimore, offers high school credits in Algebra I and English I and provides English Language Development (ELD) services. A designated Maryland “Green School,” Hampden offers programs such as Project Lead the Way (PLTW) and Robotics. Students can participate in a variety of activities, including the Magazine Club, Girls on the Run, Glee, the annual school musical, Art Club, Chess, Robotics, Student Government Association, and Junior National Honor Society.

  • Hampstead Hill Academy (Hampstead)
    Hampstead offers high school credits in Algebra I and English I, and provides English Language Development (ELD) services, as well as tutoring and mentoring. Located in Southeast Baltimore, the Maryland “Green School” emphasizes environmental sustainability and the visual and performing arts. Students can participate in Robotics, interscholastic sports, and clubs such as STEAM, Spanish, Science Olympiad, Math Club, and Chess. Additional activities include Band, Orchestra, Theater, Choir, Culinary Arts, Yearbook, and Service Leaders Club. As a conversion school, HHA serves students living in its attendance area, which spans from Broadway (west) to Haven (east) and from Eastern (north) to Boston (south). Enrollment is directly through the school and not part of the Choice process.

  • James McHenry Elementary/Middle School (James McHenry)

    James McHenry, located at 31 S. Schroeder Street in Southwest Baltimore, offers the Ingenuity Project, Algebra I, and a wide range of clubs, including sports, dance, art, cheerleading, robotics, chess, cooking, scouts, and choir. Students can also participate in interscholastic athletics. 

  • KIPP Harmony Academy (KIPP Baltimore)
    As part of KIPP Baltimore, KIPP Harmony Academy offers high school credits in English I and Algebra I, plus ELD, tutoring, mentoring, Robotics, sports, and media programs. Students can join clubs such as the Science Team, Dance, Theater, Student Government, CHARM Magazine, and Braiding Club. Founded in 2002, KIPP Baltimore serves about 1,400 PreK–8 students across two schools on a shared campus in West Baltimore. Enrollment is directly through the school and not part of the Choice process.

  • Leith Walk Elementary/Middle School
    (Leith Walk)

    Leith Walk, where L.E.G.E.N.D.S are made, is a pre-K–8 school in Northeast Baltimore that has served as a community cornerstone since 1955. The school fosters a nurturing and inclusive environment where students can explore robotics, participate in sports such as flag football and basketball, and join clubs including Band, Choir, Theater, Art, and Student Government.

  • Lillie May Carroll Jackson School

    This charter school serves girls in grades 5–8 and is located in Northeast Baltimore. It offers a supportive learning environment with project-based learning, character education, arts programming, STEM education, and opportunities for interscholastic athletics. Enrollment is directly through the school and not part of the Choice process.

  • Roland Park Elementary/Middle School (Roland Park)
    Roland Park offers high school credits in Algebra I, English I, and Spanish I. Students engage in programs like Robotics, Science Olympiad, Math Olympiad, and National Junior Honor Society. Sports include soccer, basketball, volleyball, and track, while arts and enrichment options range from Drama and Band to Coding and Student Government.

  • Rosemont Elementary/Middle School (Rosemont)
    Rosemont, on Baltimore’s west side, serves pre-K–8 students, focusing on academic, social, and emotional growth. Students engage in environmental sustainability, robotics, tutoring, and mentoring; join clubs like Spanish, Chess, Robotics, and Art; and participate in Drumline/Band and interscholastic sports.

  • Stadium School (Stadium)
    Stadium offers a structured academic program complemented by engaging extracurricular activities. Located in the Coldstream-Homestead-Montebello community of Northeast Baltimore, the school focuses on preparing students for college and careers through intense collaboration among staff, families, and the community. Students can participate in a variety of activities, including Band, cheerleading, dance, Culinary Arts, and more.

  • Vanguard Collegiate Middle (Vanguard)
    Vanguard offers sports, mentoring, and clubs such as Math, Book, Dance, Flag Football, Volleyball, Basketball, Yearbook, and upcoming clubs in Fashion and Discovery. The school emphasizes academic growth through advisory, enrichment, and remediation, guided by its vision to ensure every learner is at grade level or beyond entering high school, and its mission to support student safety, health, and grade-level achievement.

  • Woodhome Elementary/Middle School (Woodhome)
    Woodhome offers a supportive and challenging academic environment. Located in Northwest Baltimore, the school provides English Language Development (ELD), and holds a Green School designation. Students benefit from interscholastic sports, tutoring, and mentoring services, as well as clubs such as the Good News Club, Student Government Association (SGA), Safety Patrols, Dance Club, and Choir. Woodhome was recognized by the State of Maryland with an Excellence in Gifted and Talented Education (EGATE) Award in December 2018.

Middle/High Schools

  • Baltimore Design School (BDS)
    At BDS, students can take AP and Dual Enrollment courses and explore CTE pathways in Graphic Design, Fashion Design, and Architecture. With programs in media production, theater, modeling, and robotics—plus clubs like E-Sports, Green Team, and Yearbook—students design their future here. Enrollment is directly through the school and not part of the Choice process.

  • Baltimore Revolutionary Academy for Virtual Education (BRAVE)
    Looking for a flexible, high-quality learning environment? BRAVE offers virtual and hybrid learning, featuring courses such as Algebra, Computer Science, and Financial Literacy. Students stay engaged through interactive clubs, as well as in-person field trips and events.

  • Green Street Academy (Green Street)
    Green Street offers students advanced academic opportunities, including Dual Enrollment and AP courses as well as Career & Technical Education (CTE) pathways in nursing, urban agriculture, and construction design management. Students gain real-world skills while exploring environmental sustainability practices. Beyond academics, students access tutoring, mentoring, and robotics, and can join a wide range of clubs and creative activities. Enrollment is directly through the school and not part of the Choice process.

High Schools

  • Bard High School Early College Baltimore (Bard)
    Bard offers a unique four-year public school experience where students can earn both a high school diploma and up to 60 college credits through Bard’s tuition-free early college program. Located in Northwest Baltimore, students follow 9th and 10th grades with rigorous liberal arts and sciences coursework, preparing them for higher education and career success.

  • City Neighbors High School


    At City Neighbors High School, creativity and innovation come together. Students explore the arts and sustainability, and have the opportunity to take AP and Dual Enrollment courses. The northeast Baltimore school also has a Fabrication Lab and extracurriculars such as band, Step Team, Green Team, and chess. Enrollment is held via a lottery and not part of the Choice process.   • Patterson High School (Patterson) 

    Situated in Southeast Baltimore, Patterson offers a diverse range of academic programs, career pathways, and extracurricular activities. Students can explore CTE, Dual Enrollment, JROTC, Interpreter Certification, Project Lead the Way, and various clubs, including chess, coding, drama, robotics, band, dance, and choir. 

  • Paul Laurence Dunbar High School (Dunbar)
    Dunbar offers rigorous academic and career programs, including Advanced Placement courses, Dual Enrollment, and Career and Technical Education (CTE) Pathways. The school provides English Language Development (ELD), Project Lead the Way (PLTW), and mentoring and tutoring services. Students can participate in a wide range of sports across all seasons, as well as clubs and activities such as Poetry Club, Band, Choir, Dance, National Honor Society, DIVAS Girls’ Club, StepAfrika, Chess, Gaming, Guitar, Majorettes, Student Council, and Volunteer Club.

  • Reginald F. Lewis High School (RFL)

    RFL offers a wide range of opportunities to help students succeed. Explore AP courses, Dual Enrollment, robotics, JROTC, and participate in clubs like Art, Math, Cheer, Green Club, LatinX, Gaming, and Band. Students can also access tutoring, mentoring, and career pathways, including business and apprenticeship programs, plus interscholastic sports. Located in Northeast Baltimore, Lewis helps students reach their full potential.
