Dear Western Families, I wanted to let you know that around 9:45 a.m. today, Western High School experienced a brief power outage. Power was fully restored within approximately 10 minutes, and all school facilities and systems are now functioning normally. Instructional time resumed promptly, and the school day has continued as scheduled. There was no damage to the building, and student and staff safety was maintained throughout the interruption. We appreciate the calm and cooperation shown by our students and staff during this brief disruption. Thank you for your continued partnership and trust. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to let me know. Warm regards, Brittany Baugh Principal, Western High School

Policy JICJ Survey Sweepstakes

Greetings Western Staff and Students,
We need your participation in the student and staff surveys for Policy JICJ! To encourage participation, the Schools Office is offering an exciting incentive: transportation coverage for an approved trip scheduled this school year OR a staff breakfast or lunch 🍽️🚌.

Funding will be awarded to the top three schools that record the highest combined number of student and staff survey responses.

The purpose of these surveys is to assess the implementation and impact of social media within our school communities. Both surveys will remain open through December 19th ⏰.
• Staff Survey: Sent directly to staff via the City Schools survey platform. Please click the link in your email inbox to participate.
• Student Survey: Available Below https://edu.sogolytics.com/survey/form?k=RQsUVRYsWTWQsPsPsP&lang=0
(copy web address and paste it in a new browser window).

Your voice matters, and your participation could benefit our entire school community! 🎉

For inquiries, please contact Jonathan Turner, Manager of Special Projects, at JETurner@bcps.k12.md.us.

Thank you for your support and participation!

Greetings Western Families, 🎁

We are excited to celebrate the season together at our Holiday Assembly tomorrow! 🎄✨ Our talented students and dedicated staff have been working hard to prepare a wonderful showcase, and we look forward to sharing this joyful experience with our school community. This event is a special time to come together, celebrate our students, and strengthen our spirit of sisterhood 💖.

We kindly ask that parents refrain from requesting early dismissal for students on this day so all students may fully enjoy and participate in the celebration 🎶🎤. If an early dismissal is absolutely necessary, documentation (such as a doctor’s note, court summons, or funeral notice) must be submitted in order for the absence to be excused 📄.

Thank you for your continued support as we celebrate the season together! ❄️🎉

Educationally Yours,
The Administrative Team
