Wildcat Parent Committee Meeting
Dear Parents or Guardians, Today, your child received a letter with the specific shots that they still need updated. Please check with your child for that letter. Immunizations (also called vaccinations and sometimes “shots”) are an important part of keeping your child healthy. State law also requires them for students in PreK through 12th grade. Our records show that your child may not have had their immunizations. or that these immunizations will soon be out of date: Meningococcal (MCV4) Tetanus, Diphtheria and Acellular Pertussis [Tdap] (Dtap) MMR Varicella HepB Polio If your child has had these immunizations, please make sure we have an updated copy of the immunization record as soon as possible. If your child does not have proof of the required immunizations, please provide an appointment slip from the doctor’s office or the health department, or a written statement from you giving the date that the child will receive the immunization(s). Your doctor or clinic can give your child the necessary immunizations. The Baltimore City Health Department (410-396-4454) can also give you information about locations for immunizations. If you need additional information about vaccinations, please contact 0134 Walter P. Carter Elementary/Middle at (410)396-6271. Thank you for taking care of this important part of your child’s health, and making sure your child is ready to start the new school year.

Immunizations (also called vaccinations and sometimes “shots”) are an important part of keeping your child healthy. State law also requires them for students in PreK through 12th grade. If your child has had these immunizations, please make sure your child’s school has an updated copy of the immunization record. Mandatory vaccinations years are typically PreK, kindergarten and 7th grade. Look forward to receiving a letter with the needed vaccinations if your child is missing their updated shots. Those children who have not received updated vaccinations could result in exclusion from school until those vaccinations have been updated.
