On Wednesday, October 28, we invite all students and staff to wear pink in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. We are asking participants to bring a $1 donation to support the Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center in Baltimore, Maryland.
On Friday, October 30, we will celebrate with our Table and Treat event in the main office! Students and staff are welcome to wear costumes. For everyone's safety, costume masks, toy weapons, and other potentially unsafe costume accessories are not permitted.

⛳ Golf Experience: Middle school scholars have an exciting opportunity to participate in a FREE golf clinic today from 11:00 AM–1:00 PM at Forest Park Golf Course. Registration information was shared earlier this week.
📚 Enoch Pratt Free Library: Library locations are open today and offer activities and opportunities for children and families. Check your local branch for programming.
🏀 Recreation Center: The recreation center attached to Beechfield will be open for evening activities beginning at 5:00 PM.

Looking for a fun and exciting opportunity for your scholar on Friday's Wellness Day? Baltimore City Public Schools Office of Athletics, in partnership with First Tee Golf, is hosting a FREE Fall 2026 Golf Clinic for students in grades 6–12!

Greetings Beechfield Families!
We have so much to celebrate at Beechfield Elementary Middle School! On Friday, October 9, our schoolwide attendance reached 90.52%, exceeding our daily goal of 90%! Special congratulations to Pre-K (96%), 2nd grade (91%), 3rd grade (97%), 6th grade (93%), and 7th grade (98%) for meeting or exceeding our attendance target. Thank you to our families for continuing to make daily attendance a priority!
Friday was also an amazing day as our scholars and staff celebrated Pajama Day and participated in our first Town Hall Assemblies, featuring the Maryland Science Center and special student recognitions. We are excited to share pictures from these celebrations tomorrow in the Principal's Fall Newsletter!

Thursday is a half day for students, with dismissal at 11:30 AM.
Conferences must be scheduled in advance with your child's teacher. Please check your child's ClassDojo for scheduling information and available appointment times.
We encourage every family to take this opportunity to discuss their child's academic performance, attendance, behavior, and goals for continued success. Before your conference, please log in to the Infinite Campus Parent Portal to review your child's grades and attendance and determine whether your child is on track to pass the first marking period.

All Beechfield families are asked to log in to the Infinite Campus Parent Portal and complete their 2026–2027 Annual Student Verification (ASV). Even if none of your information has changed, you must still review and confirm it.
But did you know that your Parent Portal offers so much more?
Through the Parent Portal, you can:
• View your child's Quarter 1 Progress Report.
• Monitor your child's academic performance, grades, and progress throughout the school year.
• Stay informed about attendance and behavior.
• For our 8th-grade families, get a head start on reviewing the components of your child's composite score used for high school choice.
• Update your contact information, emergency contacts, and important student information.
• Stay connected to important school and district announcements.

We are excited to share that our Beechfield Scholars have met our schoolwide attendance goal of 90% or higher every day this week! This is a wonderful accomplishment, and we are so proud of our students, families, and staff for making attendance a priority.
Tomorrow, Friday, October 9, is PAJAMA DAY!
Students and staff are invited to wear pajamas as we celebrate our attendance success on September 30 and October 1.
Tomorrow is also our FIRST TOWN HALL ASSEMBLIES of the school year, featuring a special presentation by the Maryland Science Center!
Classes in each grade band with the highest Pajama Day participation will earn special snacks next week!
Families, we cannot do this work without you. It truly takes a village to ensure our scholars arrive at school on time, ready to learn, and prepared to engage. Every day of instruction matters, and consistent attendance is one of the most important ways we can support academic success.

Let's continue to make very day count. Our ALL Star Parent list will go out tomorrow! All parents that have ensured their child has 95% attendance and above will be invited to a special event with Principal Grant!
It truly takes a village, and our Beechfield village showed up! On September 30th AND October 1st, our school attendance was above 90%! That is something worth celebrating!
To recognize our scholars and families for making attendance a priority, all students who were present on September 30th and October 1st will participate in our “We Are Never Slept On!” PAJAMA DAY on Friday, October 9th! Staff will be joining in the fun too!

We need your partnership as we work to ensure that every Beechfield Scholar is present, on time, and ready to learn each day. When students arrive late or miss school, they miss important instruction, classroom routines, intervention, small-group learning, and opportunities to practice essential skills. This can impact academic performance, engagement, and behavior throughout the school day.
Learning also continues at home! Please spend time reinforcing reading, letter and sound recognition, math skills, and writing. Even a few focused minutes each evening can help strengthen what students are learning at school.
We were SO CLOSE to our 90% attendance goal yesterday at 89.49%! Let’s finish the week STRONG and get EVERY CLASS to 90% or above TODAY!

Today, Q1 Progress Reports are available in Infinite Campus. We encourage every family to log in, review your child’s current academic progress, and talk with your scholar about areas of strength and areas where additional growth is needed.
As you review progress reports, we also want to emphasize one of the most important ways families can support academic success: consistent, on-time attendance.
Yesterday, Beechfield reached 91.36% overall attendance and met our schoolwide goal! We are proud of this accomplishment, but we need this level of attendance every day.
Our scholars can only receive the daily instruction, intervention, small-group support, practice, feedback, and academic support they need when they are in school. Students who are working toward grade-level expectations especially need every available instructional day. Missing school or arriving late means missing valuable learning time that is difficult to replace.
Please help us by making school attendance a priority. Students should arrive each day by 7:45 a.m. so they are ready to begin their school day on time.
Progress reports tell us where our scholars are. Consistent attendance helps us move them forward. Let’s continue working together to get every Beechfield Scholar on grade level and beyond!
