During the search for a new City Schools CEO, you told us what you want the future of our school district to look like. Families, students, staff and community members all shared what matters most to them and what they want to see improve in our schools.
The Board used this feedback to shape four new focus areas that will guide its work moving forward. These four areas will replace the Board’s previous seven strategic priorities, helping to shape the district’s next strategic plan.

Focus Areas:
1. Students with Diverse Learning Needs
Improve services and outcomes for students with disabilities and other learning needs.
2. School Portfolio Strategy
Make sure Baltimore students and families have access to high-quality schools and programs that meet their needs.
3. School Climate and Student Well-being
Create safe, welcoming schools where students feel they belong and can thrive.
4. More High-Performing Schools
Increase the number of Baltimore schools where students receive a high-quality education and achieve strong academic results.
