Under Armour providing shoes for City Schools

City School student at Under Armour Day

On Thursday, October 15, more than 900 Under Armour teammates came together across City Schools for Armour Day, participating in volunteer projects through the company’s Project Rampart initiative. The partnership is designed to enhance the student-athlete and leader experience and support academic success through the power of sport.

A highlight of the day was the unveiling of the fully renovated weight room at Reginald F. Lewis High School, made possible through a partnership among Under Armour, CareFirst, and the Impact Fitness Foundation. Dr. Jermaine Dawson joined Under Armour CEO Kevin Plank and CareFirst President and CEO Kurt Small for the ribbon-cutting celebration, marking an exciting investment in Lewis student-athletes and their futures.

Across the district, volunteers supported school improvement projects at ACCE, Augusta Fells Savage Institute of Visual Arts, and Edmondson-Westside High School; hosted field days at Hampstead Hill Academy, James McHenry Elementary/Middle School, and Johnston Square Elementary School in partnership with Volo Sports; and helped provide athletic shoes for winter sports participants at Digital Harbor High School, NAF, and Benjamin Franklin High School through Soles4Souls.

Armour Day reflects the power of community partnerships to create meaningful experiences for students, strengthen school communities, and expand opportunities for student-athletes to thrive both in the classroom and beyond.
