The Baltimore City Board of School Commissioners (Board) has approved the 2026-27 school year calendar, designed to maximize student learning while balancing the needs of educators and families.
The newly adopted calendar:
Prioritizes student learning and academic achievement
Incorporates professional development opportunities to support educators
Includes wellness days to promote well-being for students and staff
Provides time for families to honor cultural celebrations
Key dates:
First day for staff: Tuesday, August 18, 2026
First day for students: Monday, August 24, 2026
Last day of school, barring inclement weather: Friday, June 11, 2027 (early release)
Winter Break: December 23, 2026 – January 4, 2027
Spring Break: March 28 – April 6, 2027
