  • Submit to Lyric Baltimore's Dream Big contest:

    • Students in grades 5-12 can submit an original poem, essay, video, musical composition, or artwork responding to the question: "How will you reach for the stars and change the world?" The deadline is Friday, February 20.

    • Top finalists, called "Visionaries," present their work at the Dream Big Celebration at 7 p.m. on March 24, 2026, at Lyric Baltimore. Visionaries, Dreamers, and Strivers receive cash prizes and awards.

  • Submit to the WJZ Black History Oratory Competition

    • Students in grades 9–12 are invited to enter WJZ-TV’s Black History Oratory Competition. Respond to a quotation by Frederick Douglass, Juanita Jackson Mitchell, or Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. for an opportunity to earn scholarship money and perform live. Essays are due by January 25.
