#66

At Mount Royal, we believe that school is where students find the passion that will help them be successful in future college and careers. We offer a wide range of opportunities throughout the school day and after school, including Code in the Schools, Study Abroad Club, Engineering Club, robotics, and more! Nestled in historic Bolton Hill in the heart of the MICA campus, our school partners with MICA interns who help us incorporate art across all content areas. Mount Royal opened in 1958 as one of the first desegregated schools in Baltimore and has carried a tradition of excellence and opportunity since its inception. Today, we are a school of opportunity offering multiple pathways to success. For middle school students, the challenging Ingenuity Project is one of the most rewarding programs in Baltimore City, with a strong emphasis on preparing students for college and careers in STEM fields. Honors and Advanced Academics programs provide an accelerated curriculum and the opportunity to earn middle school honors credits. Students in the general education program receive instruction from the same teachers who teach honors courses and are held to high expectations as well. We also have an award-winning gifted and advanced learning program, where all identified students (currently 15% of the student population) have an individualized learning plan that sets yearlong goals for rigorous projects based on passion and interests.
