National Academy Foundation is a transformational school located in East Baltimore that educates and nurtures students through adolescence. Our vision is for all NAF students to graduate college and career ready through a variety of programs, including Career and Technology Education pathways. Through significant community partnerships, NAF also offers enrichment activities for students, including interscholastic sports, modeling, dance, poetry, arts, and more. We are part of a national organization that gives our students access to exclusive scholarships, internships, services, and employment opportunities. In addition, the school has a full barbershop and beauty salon that offers free services to our students.
There is a pending set of recommendations related to this school community. The Baltimore City Board of School Commissioners is considering a set of recommendations to reconfigure National Academy Foundation from 6-12 to 9-12, with Commodore John Rodgers Elementary/Middle School and Vanguard Collegiate Middle School as the recommended receiving schools for middle school students. To learn more about this year’s recommendations to the Board and how to provide feedback to inform the Board’s decision-making process, please visit City Schools’ Annual Review of Schools landing page.
