Green Street Academy embraces the green movement and the new paths it will generate. We are a school that captures the imagination, stimulates curiosity, and inspires success. Our students participate in project-based learning and entrepreneurship. In high school, they select from a variety of sustainability-oriented career tracks that prepare them for certifications, internships, and careers in the industry they choose. Green Street Academy also partners with the University of Maryland, Baltimore, CURE Scholars Program, which prepares students in West Baltimore for competitive and rewarding careers in research, STEM, and healthcare.
There is a pending set of recommendations related to this school community. The Baltimore City Board of School Commissioners is considering a set of recommendations to close Renaissance Academy High School in June 2026, at the end of the current school year, with Frederick Douglass High School, Edmondson-Westside High School, and Green Street Academy designated as recommended receiving schools for Renaissance students. To learn more about this year’s recommendations to the Board and how to provide feedback to inform the Board’s decision-making process, please visit City Schools’ Annual Review of Schools landing page.
