Good Evening Rising Kindergarten and Rising 7th Grade families. Please read the attached letter regarding required immunizations for students entering kindergarten and 7th grade. Please be sure we have updated immunization records for your students BASED ON THE ATTACHED LETTER by August 15th. Students who do not have updated immunization records on file WILL NOT BE ALLOWED to start school on August 26th. Please reach out if you have any questions. Take care.

Quarter 4 Report Cards will be available for pick up from the main office from Thursday, June 26th to Thursday, July 3rd between the hours of 10am and 2pm. Please be advised that all City Schools are closed on Fridays during the summer, so FSK is closed on June 27th. Please reach out if you have any questions. Good evening 8th Grade families! Tomorrow we celebrate FSK’s Class of 2025! Today each student received their tickets and some reminders for tomorrow. Here are the reminders, please review them, as we don’t want any misunderstandings tomorrow. 8TH GRADE CLOSING NOTES 1. The ceremony starts at 10AM - we cannot wait for late comers. 2. STUDENTS MUST BE AT SCHOOL BY 9:15 TO LINE UP FOR CLOSING at Door 7. We will gather in first floor 8th grade classrooms. Families ARE NOT allowed in the classrooms with students. 3. Guests will be allowed to enter the building beginning at 9:40-no one will be allowed in prior to this time. 4. Each guest MUST have a ticket AND sign-in. There will be THREE sign-in spots by each student’s: once those spots are full no other guests will be admitted. 5. No balloons are allowed in the gym - NO EXCEPTIONS. 6. Students will be dismissed following closing to celebrate with their families. Please reach out to the 8th grade team if you have any questions.

This is something FSK has done post-COVID, usually after the Memorial Day holiday. Students and families can opt to wear whatever they choose, uniform or not, as long as it falls in line with Baltimore City's Dress Code policy. Please review both documents, especially Page 2-it has very specific information regarding what is and is not acceptable, and reach out if you have any questions. Hi everyone,  We are getting ready for our 3rd - 8th grade students to take the mcap state assessment next month, once we return from spring break.  To help students feel confident and ready for the assessment, we'd like for families to write letters of encouragement that their children can read before beginning the assessment.  Please use the following link to write your letter!  If you would like additional family members or friends to write a letter, you can share the link or submit more than one entry.  Please submit by 4/22! https://forms.gle/uc73b1HXE7JQ5Y8u8 If you would rather bring in a handwritten note, there will be a bin in the front office where they can be dropped off.   All letters will be given out on the morning that testing begins. You do not need to come inside to sign your child out if you are taking them home! There is a sign out sheet outside under the awning on the black table! Your child also must pickup their Quarter 3 report before they leave! Reminder: If your child needs to stay for the rest of the day, they are welcome to do so!

Good morning FSK, We received word of a possible shooting at Latrobe Park. Out of safety and concern we have put the school on lockdown: no one in or out of the school. We have called Baltimore City Police and School Police and are currently waiting for an update. Once we’ve received the all-clear from law enforcement. We will update as needed

Good morning FSK! Friendly reminder that schools are closed tomorrow for professional development and parent conferences. Since schools are closed tomorrow, today is a Dress Down Day! Students may come to school in regular clothes, as long as it complies with Baltimore City Schools’ dress code policy. Tomorrow’s conferences begin at 1pm. All teachers have sent out their conference schedules and sign up protocols. Please reach out to teachers to confirm if you are unsure of their conference process. Conferences end at 3:30 so the time is tight. Please make sure you schedule your time before coming in. Unscheduled conferences are not guaranteed. Please reach out if you have any questions. At this final meeting of the budget season we will review and discuss the draft budget that has been submitted to the district for School Year 25-26. We will begin at 5pm. Hello Families, Due to traffic the 6th grade field trip is running behind and is not expected at FSK until around 4:15pm. If your child is a yellow bus rider, you will need to come pick them up at the school. Students on the trip have been instructed to call parents to coordinate transportation.
