Family resources during the 2025 Government Shutdown
Resources, supports, and wrap-around services are always available to City Schools families. During the federal government shutdown, City Schools is committed to supporting our students, families, staff and school communities. Here are some key resources from our school district, as well as City, State and national organizations:
City Schools
All Baltimore City Public Schools have a Community School Coordinator (CSC). Speak to your CSC if you would like to know about resources in your school community/neighborhood, including school food pantries, clothing and housing assistance, and more.
Food pantries are currently available at 71 of our schools.
City Schools’ Food and Nutrition team reminds families that breakfast and lunch are offered free to all students, every day. The Office of Nutrition also offers after-school snacks and supper programs. Discuss available programs with your CSC at your school.
The City of Baltimore
Mayor Brandon M. Scott has announced a $4.68 million investment to support residents and federal workers impacted by the ongoing government shutdown.
