Good morning, Patterson family! Yesterday members from the BIRE (Bilingual Immigrant Refugee Immigrant Education) conference visited Patterson high school. BIRE is an annual conference where district and classroom educators collaborate and meet about best practices. This year the conference is being held in Baltimore and yesterday we hosted visitors from Kentucky, Florida, Nevada, Colorado, Anne Arundel County and other places.
Our students impressed our visitors with a student panel where they highlighted our school's diversity and showed our visitors how amazing our students and staff are! The students then brought our visitors around on a tour of the school. Our visitors were super impressed with our school, our faculty, and of course our students. Some of the highlights ... "It is May 15th and there is still strong instruction happening." "We saw language objectives used throughout the school. This shows the importance of language learning for all." "The students kept referring to the faculty as family."
