Jamel Crandall is a trailblazer who works intentionally to drive classroom improvement and nurture the well-being of his students and school community. Before becoming Principal at Success Academy West, he served as an Assistant Principal, where he led the school’s instructional leadership team, developed performance goals, and implemented data-driven strategies that boosted the graduation rate from 85% to 92%.
Crandall looks forward to continuing his leadership journey as principal, eager to collaborate with stakeholders to ensure every student meets their life goals. "My passion for self-care practices reflects my holistic approach to education, likely emphasizing student and staff well-being," he says.
Outside the classroom, Crandall is a Baltimore resident and loves sharing insights about the city’s diverse neighborhoods, cultural significance, and evolution.
