Baltimore City Public Schools celebrates Baltimore Polytechnic Institute (Poly), Baltimore School for the Arts (BSA), and Baltimore City College (City College) for earning recognition among Maryland’s top 20 high schools on the U.S. News & World Report’s Best High Schools list.
Poly is ranked No. 6 statewide, with a national ranking of No. 279, and an overall score of 98.45 out of 100. Eighty-two percent of students took at least one Advanced Placement exam, providing the opportunity to earn college credit.
BSA is ranked No. 15 in Maryland, with a national ranking of No. 610, and an overall score of 96.6 out of 100. BSA was recognized for achieving a graduation rate of 95% or higher.
City College is ranked No. 18 in Maryland, with a national rank of No. 715, and an overall score of 96.02 out of 100. All students took at least one Advanced Placement exam, providing the opportunity to earn college credit.
The U.S. News and World Report's Best High Schools rankings include data on more than 24,000 public high schools in 50 states and the District of Columbia. The overall score is based on six ranking indicators: college readiness, breadth of college curriculum, state assessment proficiency, state assessment performance, performance of underserved students, and graduation rate.
