On November 11, 2024, WBFF-TV aired a story, β€œAt least 4,600 Baltimore City E/M students promoted after missing 60 school days or more,” based on data obtained as part of the Patterson v. BCBSC litigation filed in 2022. The story alleges β€œalarming numbers coming out of Baltimore City concerning students passing classes while missing months of school.” 

WBFF-TV requested a response from the Board of School Commissioners regarding its cited data. However, while City Schools was unable to provide a response before the story aired, the following response was ultimately shared with WBFF-TV, which updated the web portion of its story.
