Greetings Hamilton Families,
We hope you're safe and warm. Due to the closure of Baltimore City Public Schools, Hamilton Elementary Middle School will begin Day One of Virtual Learning tomorrow, Thursday, January 29th, and Day Two on Friday, January 30th. Please see the communication below for important details regarding Hamilton’s Virtual Learning Plan, including virtual learning logistics, daily schedules, and Zoom links.
Please review the Virtual Learning Schedule with the Zoom Meeting IDs on our website under School Resources, Virtual Learning. All classes will follow a structured schedule outlining the school day, class meeting times, and learning expectations for students.
Class Schedules & Zoom Links:
Elementary School students in Pre-Kindergarten: Students will complete work asynchronously based on the green Frog Street backpack that was sent home. Teachers & Paras will be available on the zoom links for parent questions only.
Elementary School students in grade K- 2, Ms. Hughes 3rd class and Ms. Riga's class will remain on the same Zoom link with their teacher throughout the day.
Elementary School students in the remaining 3rd grade classes will have two zoom links. One for their ELA /Social Studies teacher and one for their Math/Science teacher.
Elementary School students in 4th and 5th grade classes will have three zoom links. One for their ELA, Math and Science/Social Studies teacher.
Middle School students will switch classes and access multiple Zoom links, just as they would during a regular in-person school day for each teacher (4) ELA, Math, Science and Social Studies.
For resource classes (physical education, technology, art, etc.), the teachers will join the zoom link from the student's core content zoom class. Students will not need to access any separate links for resource classes.
Zoom links for all classes will be shared through ClassDojo.
For families who are not connected to ClassDojo, all classrooms Zoom meeting IDs will be available on our school website under the page titled “Virtual Learning.”
No passwords are required to access class meetings.
Student Expectations
Students must log in using their first and last name.
Students should log in on time and be ready to learn, just as they would during an in-person school day.
Technology Support
If your child experiences any technology or connectivity issues, please reach out directly to their Homeroom Teacher for support and guidance.

City Schools presented the district's proposed $1.9 billion budget for the 2026-27 school year to the Board of School Commissioners during the public Board meeting on Wednesday, April 8. The budget details funds which will cover needs surrounding student wholeness, literacy, leadership, equity, and district office structure. Interested in taking AP courses during the summer? Rising 9th–12th-grade students are invited to apply for a FREE summer program. Eligible students will receive academic preparation for an AP course of their choice and take part in college visits or other college readiness activities. The program will be held at the Baltimore Design School from June 29 through July 30, Mondays–Thursdays, 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
