The holiday season has arrived, and at Garrett Heights Elementary Middle School, we are excited to celebrate with our annual 12 Days til Winter Break Countdown! This beloved tradition brings fun, creativity, and togetherness to our school community as students and staff dress up according to a new festive theme each day.
These themed days are designed to spark joy, embrace the holiday season, and strengthen our GHEMS spirit as we close out the calendar year.

December 8 – ’Tis the Season!
We’re kicking things off with classic holiday colors. Wear your red and green to start the countdown strong!
December 9 – Deck the Halls!
Light up the halls with holiday accessories—garland, lights, ornaments, necklaces, and more.
December 10 – Sweater Weather!
It’s cozy sweater day! Wear your favorite holiday sweater—cute, comfy, or wonderfully ugly.
December 11 – Jingle All the Way!
Let your bells ring! Bring the jingle with holiday bells or accessories.
December 12 – Santa or Holiday Hat Day
Bring the holiday cheer with a Santa hat or any festive headwear.
December 15 – Winter Gear Day!
Bundle up! Think earmuffs, scarves, jackets, vests, boots, and all things winter-warm.
December 16 – Mad About Plaid!
It’s plaid day—flannel shirts, pants, suits, or anything with a plaid pattern.
December 17 – It’s a Wrap!
Get creative with gift bows, wrapping paper outfits, or holiday ribbons.
December 18 – Dreaming of a White Christmas
Wear white or something sparkly to bring the winter wonderland to life.
December 19 – December House Day
Rep your GHEMS House with pride! Wear your House’s winter-themed colors.
December 22 – Sleeping In!
It’s almost break—wear your holiday pajamas!
December 23 – Happy Holidays!
Show off your favorite ugly holiday sweater as we head into the holiday weekend.
December 24 – Winter Break Begins!
