Today was an exciting day at Garrett Heights Elementary Middle School as we welcomed a very special guest on Halloween — Baltimore City Mayor Brandon Scott!
Mayor Scott toured our school, visited classrooms, and spent time engaging with students and staff. The highlight of the day was seeing our scholars’ faces light up when they realized exactly who was walking through their classrooms!
The visit culminated with a powerful discussion with our 8th-grade students about the importance of making thoughtful high school choice selections and planning for the future. Mayor Scott even held an impromptu Q&A session, answering questions and offering words of encouragement and motivation.
It was truly an honor and a pleasure to have Mayor Scott visit GHEMS. What an inspiring and unforgettable experience for our scholars!
