Alumni Association

Established in 1883 for African American in Baltimore, Maryland, Frederick Douglass Senior High School is the oldest continuously operating public high school in the United States. Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall, a graduate of the class of 1926, is one of Douglass' most notable alumni. The Historic Frederick Douglass High School Alumni Association, Inc. continues its work to preserve the rich legecy of this historic institution, while instilling "Pride, Dignity, and Excellence" in students attending the school.

The Historic Frederick Douglass High School Alumni Association Advocates for:

  • Education funding, including exploration of opportunities to obtain local, state and federal resource dollars to improve curriculum, infrastructure and other education system needs.

  • Improvements and enhancements to education curriculum in order to promote academic excellence

  • Greater community partnerships. The Frederick Douglass High School Alumni Association is currently working with the Baltimore City Public School System to explore community partnerships with Coppin State University, the Greater Mondawmin Community Council, and other community stakeholders.
