Dear City Schools Families,

We write to you with heavy hearts as our community continues to process the impact of the Key Bridge collapse. We are incredibly saddened to learn today that this tragedy has directly affected members of our City Schools family.

Our families have suffered immeasurable loss and are experiencing profound grief, and we are committed to providing support. When our schools reopen following Spring Break on Tuesday, April 2, our school-based student support services team will be available for parents and caregivers seeking assistance for their students. Please keep our students, their family members, and friends in your thoughts.

As our students, families, and staff process this traumatic event and loss, resources from The National Child Traumatic Stress Network can help provide support and guidance. Whether you require immediate assistance or wish to talk through your feelings with someone, please know that support is readily available by calling or texting 988, a resource provided by 988helpline.org. Additionally, the Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs (MIMA) has shared these additional mental health resources:

JHO Central Sol – www.jhcentrosol.org, 410-550-1129

Pro Bono Counseling – www.probonocounseling.org, WARMLine: 410-598-0234

Intercultural Counseling Connection – www.interculturalcounseling.org, 410-632-6701

During this challenging time, let us come together as a school community and provide our families and each other with compassion, care and unwavering support.

Thank you.
