BALTIMORE — Baltimore City Public Schools is participating in the Summer Food Service Program. Meals will be provided to all children without charge. Acceptance and participation requirements for the Program and all activities are the same for all regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age, or disability. There will be no discrimination in the course of the meal service. Meals will be provided at the sites and times as follows:

Monday-Friday June 29 – Aug. 21 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. All sites will be closed to the public for summer meal service on Friday, July 3 due to observance of the July 4 holiday.

The Summer Food Service Program, funded by the USDA and administered by the Maryland State Department of Education, provides breakfast and lunch free of charge to children at school sites during the emergency closure of schools. Parents may pick up the Grab N Go meals on behalf of their children. Families will be allowed to pick up two days’ worth of meals at a time per person. Sites will receive limited supplemental boxes of food and produce in addition to meals throughout the summertime. Check for specific information on BaltimoreCitySchools.org or by calling 211.

The Grab N Go meals will be made available to all young people 18 or under or their parents, on a drop-in basis, without discrimination because of color, disability, gender identity, immigration status, national origin, race, sex, and sexual orientation. A person 19 years of age and over who has a mental or physical disability (as determined by a State or local educational agency) and who participates during the school year in a public or private non-profit school program (established for the mentally or physically disabled) is also eligible to receive meals. There will be no discrimination during meal service.

In accordance with Federal civil rights law and U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) civil rights regulations and policies, the USDA, its Agencies, offices, and employees, and institutions participating in or administering USDA programs are prohibited from discriminating based on race, color, national origin, sex, disability, age, or reprisal or retaliation for prior civil rights activity in any program or activity conducted or funded by USDA. 

Persons with disabilities who require alternative means of communication for program information (e.g. Braille, large print, audiotape, American Sign Language, etc.), should contact the Agency (State or local) where they applied for benefits. Individuals who are deaf, hard of hearing or have speech disabilities may contact USDA through the Federal Relay Service at (800) 877-8339. Additionally, program information may be made available in languages other than English.

To file a program complaint of discrimination, complete the USDA Program Discrimination Complaint Form, (AD-3027) found online at: http://www.ascr.usda.gov/complaint_filing_cust.html, and at any USDA office, or write a letter addressed to USDA and provide in the letter all of the information requested in the form.
