About Renaissance Academy

Renaissance Academy High School was founded in 2005, located in the Madison Park neighborhood of Baltimore, Maryland inside the historic Booker T. Washington building. Renaissance Academy is a community school supported by the University of Maryland School of Social Work’s Promise Heights program.

Renaissance Academy High School’s goal is to provide students with a quality educational experience while fostering their development academically, socially and emotionally. The schools’ vision is to provide a culturally responsive education using innovative teaching practices. These practices are embedded within a high-quality, student-centered learning environment including advanced placement courses and tutoring support.

Renaissance Academy believes in chasing our students’ passion. In 2019, we partnered with Baltimore City Community College and Promise Heights to offer students a Phlebotomy certification program. Last school year we partnered with Bon Secours and Promise Heights to offer students Certified Nursing Assistant certifications.

This school year we have the opportunity to offer our students four advance placements courses in Math, English, Psychology and Technology. We also have partnered with Coppin University to extend dual enrollment opportunities for our seniors.
