Classroom Set-Up
In order to meet CDC guidelines all classrooms that will be used for student academic pods will meet the following requirements:
Students and teachers will be socially distanced. Everyone will be seated at least six feet apart.
All desks will be facing the same direction.
Every room that has students will have either a heat pump/air conditioning unit that contains a MERV-13 air filter or a portable air purifier.
Information related to the above requirements. Classrooms can take on one of two configurations to meet the social distancing requirements

Each desk will have an attached plastic, see-through, shield.

MERV-13 Air Filter
MERV stands for Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value. It's an acronym created by ASHRAE to provide a scale showing the effectiveness of filters at removing particles of different sizes. The range of sizes in the MERV scale is 0.3 µm to 10 µm, subdivided into smaller ranges.
For example, to achieve MERV-13, a filter has to catch 90% of particles in the 3-10 µm range, 85% of particles in the 1-3 µm range (where PM2.5 is), and 50% of particles in the range 0.3-1 µm range (the really, really small stuff).
