Reporting Illegal or Inappropriate Activity

Baltimore City Public Schools is committed to maintaining a principled working and learning environment. If you feel that someone who works for City Schools is acting in an illegal or inappropriate manner, you should bring the mater to our attention. 

Examples of illegal or inappropriate conduct include

  • Theft, fraud, or other dishonesty
  • Violence or threatening behavior
  • Discrimination
  • Harassment
  • Substance abuse
  • Safety issues
  • Fraudulent accounting or financial reporting
  • Violations of City Schools policies or procedures
  • Violations of applicable laws, regulations, policies, or procedures
  • Retaliation for reporting illegal behavior or participating in an investigation
Reporting Illegal or Inappropriate Employee Activity

To express concern about or report suspected illegal or inappropriate activity on the part of a City Schools employee, you can:

  • Call the City Schools Staff Investigations Unit at 443-642-4935.
  • Call the Fraud Hotline anonymously at 1-800-679-0185.
  • Submit a report online. The service is anonymous, safe, reliable, convenient, and available 24 hours a day.
Reporting Incidents of Discrimination

If you believe you have been treated differently because of your race or color, national origin or ethnicity, religion of creed, sex or gender, age, physical or mental disability, genetic information, marital status, sexual orientation, or gender identify or expression, you may also file a complaint with the Equal Employment Opportunity office.

You must file a complaint within 90 days of the most recent act(s) of discrimination or harassment.
