Elena Lokounia, Principal
Dear BIA Family:
I am truly honored to be selected as the Principal of Baltimore International Academy (BIA). I feel very fortunate to continue to serve the BIA teaching and learning community and to work with a dynamic and enthusiastic staff, dedicated parents and involved community members. Most of all, I look forward to working with our future diplomats and continuing BIA’s school mission of providing a high quality, challenging, international education, so our students acquire the necessary skills to become global leaders and productive citizens in a changing world.
Over the past 20 plus years, I have worked as an elementary/middle school teacher and held various school leadership positions. I am a self-motivated and dedicated educational professional with a passionate commitment to making a positive impact on the academic, social and emotional lives of students and their families. I intend to build upon and enhance the levels of excellence at BIA, and with your support, we will continue to make BIA the best school possible for our future global leaders; a school where they can learn and grow in an atmosphere that is stimulating and adaptive to their diverse needs.
As an educational leader, I am dedicated to building strong relationships with all school community members. We have a fantastic team of dedicated staff, and we will work together to stimulate the learning and high academic performance for all students. I will work hard to foster these relationships, model expectations, and participate in all the beautiful aspects of our school community.
Once again, I am so thankful to have the opportunity to use all that I have experienced and learned for the past ten years with BIA as guidelines in my role as Principal. My Administrative staff and I will be working throughout this summer to ensure a smooth transition and opening in September. We are working diligently to prepare everything so we can guarantee a focused and positive school culture for everyone.
I look forward to working with all of you his school year.
