• What is Baltimore IT Academy?

    Baltimore IT (BIT) Academy was formed as a new transformation school in Baltimore City with an academic program focusing on Math and Information Technologies. BIT Academy opened in the Fall of 2010 by enrolling 240 students in 6th and 7th grades. BIT Academy had planned to serve grades 6 through 12 college and career prep transformation school at the Chinquapin Middle School facility. Baltimore IT Academy currently serves approximately 250 students in grades 6-8 . 
    Our Mission

    Baltimore IT Academy will attain educational excellence by providing a rigorous and quality education for middle school students with a special focus on mathematics and information technologies. This mission will be accomplished by:

    (1) implementing an innovative curriculum that reflects the increasing role of computers and technology in today’s world,
    (2) establishing a pact among students, parents, staff, and the community to provide a nurturing, safe, and dynamic learning environment.

    Our Vision

    The vision of Baltimore IT Academy is to provide a unique opportunity for Baltimore youth to pursue professional careers as well as college education in the high paying and ever growing field of information technologies. Baltimore IT Academy will promote opportunities for students, teachers, administrators, and parents to be an integral part of a highly technological global society.
