The Stadium School began in 1994. It is the first public school designed and operated in collaboration with teachers and parents. Currently TSS serves approximately 280 students and serves grades six through eight. The school began as an experiment, when teachers and parents petitioned the Baltimore City Board of Commissioners requesting an opportunity to create a new community school with the autonomy to write its own curriculum and to establish its own governance model. In exchange, the school would be required to meet or exceed both city and state standards.

The Stadium School adheres to Baltimore City School curriculum and is in full implementation of Common Core state standards.  There is a full infusion of novel study and each grade level and Stadium School has adapted Agile Minds within the math curriculum.

The goals for TSS curriculum are:
    1. Students who attend TSS must achieve academic success in order to prepare themselves to face the challenges of the future.
    2. Students who attend TSS must impact the community.
    3. Teacher curriculum planning will show alignment to Baltimore City curriculum and common core state standards..
    4. Students who attend TSS will be engaged in relevant curriculum that extends learning into real-life situations and prepares them for career and college readiness.
