Dear Roland Park families, students, staff and partners,
Please allow me to introduce myself as the recently appointed interim principal at Roland Park Elementary/Middle School. I am honored to serve as your school leader for 2018-19, and I am excited to meet each of you in the weeks ahead as we get ready for a new school year. I know I am coming to a thriving, successful school, and I want to thank Principal D’Ambrosio and the whole community for all the work done to make Roland Park one of the best schools in the state. I look forward to working with you as we continue that tradition of success next year.
I am coming to Roland Park from Thomas Johnson Elementary/Middle School, another high-performing school, where I have been serving as resident principal through the intensive leadership training program provided by the nonprofit organization New Leaders. Prior to Thomas Johnson, I worked as a district office administrator supporting middle and high school principals and leadership teams on key literacy initiatives and as the literacy content lead at Frederick Douglass High School. Additionally, I taught high school English for five years in City Schools, where my passion for engaging students through high-quality instruction was ignited. I have a bachelor’s degree in English from Salisbury University and a master’s in teaching from the Johns Hopkins University.
On the personal side, I am a native Marylander and both of my parents were teachers. I enjoy spending time with my family, my husband, daughter, and our family dog. Together we love going to the beach, the museum, and staying in to watch movies. My daughter will begin kindergarten this year!
I strongly believe in the individual potential of all children, and I am committed to providing access for every child to discover and build on her or his passions and potential. I believe in hard work and I love working with school communities. Schools are the foundation of communities and the future of our children, and I am committed to supporting the excellent education and community at Roland Park Elementary/Middle School as the process continues to identify a permanent principal.
Please feel free to email me at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have a question or would like to come and visit. I look forward to meeting all of you in person and working with you in the coming year to provide an excellent education for our students at Roland Park!
