Capital Improvement Program
City Schools' Capital Improvement Program (CIP) identifies school construction needs and establishes a reasonable schedule for funding and implementation. The CIP, which is updated annually, includes funding requests for the current budget year and for the subsequent five years.
Capital projects are proposed to improve building performance, increase capacity, or support the implementation of educational programs or initiatives. The CIP aligns with the Comprehensive Educational Facilities Master Plan and the Comprehensive Maintenance Plan. Examples of projects eligible for the CIP include the following:
- Systemic renovations (e.g., roofs, doors, boilers, chillers)
- New school buildings for new school programs
- New buildings for existing programs
