Meet City Schools
I am the Dental Assistant instructor at Vivien T. Thomas Medical Arts Academy. My role is to provide my students with the content knowledge and skills necessary to become successful dental professionals.
I graduated...from CUNY Brooklyn College in Brooklyn, NY.
I've been with...City Schools since August 2017.
Before I joined City Schools...I was working as a dental assistant.
If I could have a cup of coffee with any of my former teachers or mentors...it would be with my high school dental assistant teacher Mrs. Anna Marie Didonato. I could really use her wisdom when it comes to navigating through the course. She's only an email away, but it would be nice to plan with her in person. She is the reason I am confident in my abilities as a dental professional, and the main reason I joined City Schools to teach this pathway.
My favorite song is...24K Magic, by Bruno Mars, because it always seems to improve my mood.
The best thing about working for City Schools...would have to be witnessing the wonderful opportunities presented to Baltimore City teens. Media outlets tend to focus on the negative, but there's a lot of good happening here and I'm glad to be a part of it.
When I was growing up...I wanted to be an oral surgeon. I always knew I would be in the field of dentistry somehow.
I believe that one of the best ways to help students reach their potential is to... listen to them and respect their opinions. I have found that students are more willing to take direction if you allow them to express their opinions without judgement. It shows that you respect their voice and, in turn, they respect yours.
