    Immersion Teachers
    BIA is always looking for qualified teachers for our five immersion programs at the Elementary and Middle School level:  Spanish, Chinese, Arabic, Russian, & French.  Teachers must be either a native speaker of one of the five languages, or have native-level abilities.  Teachers must also already possess a valid teaching certificate in the State of Maryland or be eligible to obtain one. Candidates must be able to work legally in the United States; BIA does not sponsor visas. Experience with the International Baccalaureate (IB) program is strongly preferred.
    Since BIA is a total immersion school, students are taught all core academic subjects (math, science, social studies, and target language arts) entirely in the target language.  The use of English is not permitted in the immersion classroom.

    Extended Care Facilitators
    BIA, Inc. is always looking for part-time facilitators for its Before & After Care Enrichment Program. Before Care runs from 7am-8am and After Care runs from the close of the school day at 2:50pm until 6pm. Facilitators are responsible for supervising children and facilitating activities for groups of up to 15 students. Candidates must possess a 90-hour child care certificate in order to apply for the position. Preference is given to candidates who fluently speak one of our five target languages (Spanish, Chinese, Arabic, Russian, or French). If hired, candidates must go for fingerprinting at Baltimore City schools headquarters and pass a background check.  Starting pay is $10/hour. Candidates who are hired on at 20 hours per week will be eligible for paid sick leave, holiday pay, and a medical allowance of $50 per pay period.
