• Emergency Preparedness & Response

The Critical Response and School Emergency Management Guide is a planning model that provides a focus on an "all hazards approach" for  incident management and emergency prevention, preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation programs and activities.  The Guide is a "standard and consistent" model required for all schools, and is consistent with the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) guidelines.  City Schools has worked closely with the Baltimore City Office of Emergency Management, which includes Baltimore City Police and Fire Departments, to develop coordinated emergency response procedures.  In addition, each City School must have a Site-Based Emergency Safety Plan that is updated annually and reviewed with all building staff.
