• Compensation Framework

    This contract supports City Schools efforts to retain the best teachers. A new compensation framework includes significant increases in compensation, continuation of healthcare and tuition reimbursements, strong incentive to retain existing and attract new great teachers. This new compensation eliminates steps in favor of “earn as you grow” and eliminates increases based on advanced degrees and instead considers courses and professional development activities.

    As a result Baltimore City Schools will move from the bottom quartile to the top quartile in teacher compensation throughout the State of Maryland.
