Pillars of Civil Rights

The impetus behind this video was a desire of Mrs. Adkins to bring to life a civil rights poem the third-grade scholars of HSCT would learn and perform for Black History Month.  Mrs. Adkins commissioned a production company in November to create vignettes that would provide the scholars insight into the civil rights work of Harriet Tubman, Sojourner Truth, Frederick Douglass, and Dr. Martin Luther King.  The HSCT scholars learned about elements of drama including memorizing the script, and how to follow set instructions.  Additionally, the HSCT scholars spent time diving deep into African American and American Civil Rights history.
