Family Institute

City Schools welcomes you, the families of our 84,000 students, to Family Institute, a place for you to come together, get involved and find free resources and opportunities to help you support your child at school, home and in life. A vital partner in the education of your child, you are essential to our success.

Learn and Play—the Childhood Wonders Way!

Childhood Wonders Join us this summer for fun, interactive play-dates inspired by The Classic Treasury of Childhood Wonders, a book given to all families of pre-k students. Bring along your family (and your book!), spend quality time playing together and learn how play helps your child build essential skills for school and life. Scheduled for July 9, 28 and Aug. 6 at branches of the Enoch Pratt Free Library. Click here for more details.

Parenting has never been easy, years ago or now, in the 21st century. Here, on the Family Institute web section, you can find tips, resources and workshops to help you stay in tune with and involved in your child’s school experience. You can also work with us to achieve an important goal: helping your child get excited about—and come to love—learning. A love of learning takes root at home and in the classroom but influences all parts of life. It inspires students to follow their curiosities, develop their interests, make meaningful connections in and out of school—and ultimately build a life that is all their own!

We invite you to explore our site now by browsing the links to the left. Again, we extend a heartfelt welcome—we couldn’t do our work without you, the families of City Schools.
