CTE students cook up a fun morning at the school district

The exotic menu sounded like it could be at a fancy restaurant: stewed alligator, grilled Moroccan chicken, southern fried pork chops, and sweet potato pies.  But it was served in the boardroom at the district office on North Ave.  The chefs, CTE students from Carver Vocational-Technical and Mergenthaler Vocational-Technical High Schools, prepared and served the food as employees also piled their plates high with collard greens, mac and cheese, cakes, brownies and cookies. The event was one of many happening around the district for CTE month.  
 
The other half of the boardroom looked like a spa as cosmetology students gave hand massages and hair demonstrations.  And out in the lobby, carpentry students displayed wooden plaques, bottle holders and chairs they had made.
