Experience Corps Toy Drive

Experience Core Holiday Toy Drive

Experience Core The AARP Experience Corps is a volunteer-based tutoring program that inspires adults age 50 and older to serve in their community’s schools. Experience Corps Tutors come to City Springs four days a week to help with classroom routines and small group tutoring. City Springs is lucky to have 16 Tutors spread throughout our Pre-Kindergarten through 2nd grade classrooms.
During the holiday season, Experience Corps Tutors came up with a great idea: to sponsor a toy drive for the students of City Springs. Team members organized the drive with City Springs school counselor Ashley Coleman, and brought individual toy donations. We also received help from local nonprofits, including Toys for Tots and other anonymous donors, to get the number of toys needed. After assembling the toys, members of the Baltimore Curriculum Project joined our Experience Core Tutors in wrapping the gifts before presenting them to the school.
Experience Corps is very grateful to all who contributed to make our toy drive a success. They are happy to make a difference in the lives of children and grateful for the opportunity to serve at City Springs.
