• The arts is an important part of the school day. Students at all levels participate in visual arts, music and performing arts classes as part of the curriculum at different stages throughout their elementary, middle and high school years. In addition, many schools offer arts-related clubs and activities before or after school — with opportunities for everything from performing in a school play or marching band to film making, creative writing or drawing.

Many programs are offered in partnership with outside groups — for example, the award-winning OrchKids program offered in collaboration with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. Please ask at your school about what's available.
