PreK at Play 2013

Loading the player ...
On April 25, more than 30 of Baltimore's top attractions opened their doors to City Schools' youngest students, welcoming almost 5,000 four- and five-year-olds—all at the same timefor the third annual PreK at Play.  It's part of City Schools' initiative to support early learning through exploration and play.

When students already know something about a topic, they are better able to learn new information. And when they can connect classroom content to experiences in their own lives, the learning is deepened. City Schools' PreK programs help young learners build that background knowledge—and prepare them for success in kindergarten and beyond.

Visiting different locations throughout the city is an excellent—and fun!—opportunity for children to build background knowledge. And when parents come along, they can reinforce their children's learning by sharing in it and discussing it at home.
