State of School Facilities: The Jacobs Report

In fall 2010, Baltimore City Public Schools commissioned Jacobs Project Management Company to conduct the most comprehensive study to date of the physical condition of the district’s school buildings.

City Schools has contracted Jacobs Project Management in past years to do facilities feasibility reports, facility usage studies and building condition assessments; most recently, the firm worked on the design and project management for City Schools’ new Waverly Elementary/Middle School.

But the districtwide study marks a much larger and more ambitious undertaking: providing City Schools’ 200+ school communities with the 21st-century buildings students need to succeed. The report was released at a press conference on June 26, 2012. (Read the press release.)
