High School choice is an opportunity for graduating 8th grade students to pick high schools that they wish to attend. The students attend high school fairs and open houses to learn about the different schools in the city and the school's eligibility requirements. Students have the opportunity to talk with their guidence counselor and pick the top 5 schools they are interested in and rank them from first choice to fifth choice. Students then complete the high school choice application and submit it to the choice liaison at their current school. Last, students wait for a letter from City Schools letting them know the choice results.
