Hilton Elementary School runs a very exciting and highly structured after-school program Monday-Thursday. We devote time to homework completion, reading, and mathematics skill enhancement. Students also engage in cultural arts activities. Nutritious snacks are provided by Baltimore City Public Schools (City Schools) and parent contributions. The program is monitored by Child First Authority and The Family League.

Enrollment:  Student enrollment occurs annually for grades K-5. Students are not automatically "rolled over" each year. There are a limited amount of seats for each grade level. The only way to ensure that your scholar participates in the after school program is to attend the parent orientation during the scheduled dates and times. Parents are required to donate 1 hour per month for each child enrolled in the program. Donation hours can be fulfilled through supporting breakfast, lunch, volunteering in the classroom, the after school program during the hours of operation, and volunteering during school sponsored events (carnival, harvest party, science fair, Back to School Night, poetry slam, school dances, PBIS activities). Please contact Mrs. Saundra Adams to coordinate your donation of time.

Requirements: Hilton's Child First After School Program provides rich experiences at no cost to our students and families from 2:35 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. We understand that unexpected emergencies will occur occasionally however parents/guardians are responsible for arriving at Hilton Elementary by 5:30 p.m. for dismissal. After two occasions of lateness students will be dismissed from the program. Notification of the occasions of lateness will be provided in writing and a copy will be placed in the main office. Please be advised that phone calls to notify the staff of a late arrival still constitutes as an occasion of lateness and will be noted as such.

Just Added... Pre-Kindergarten!: During the summer of 2016, The Family League and City Schools announced that Hilton Elementary was selected as the pilot site for the Pre-Kindergarten After School Program. One of the requirements for the grant funded opportunity indicates that pre-kindergarten students that have siblings in grades K-5 in the Child First After School Program receive priority enrollment. The remaining slots will be offered to Hilton's pre-kindergarten scholars. The hours of operation coincide with Child First's program, 2:35 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. The pre-kindergarten portion of the after school program will operate under the direction of Smart Steps Children's Centers @ Hilton Elementary School.
