Principal’s Introduction Letter
Greetings Parents and Families of Alexander Hamilton Elementary School:
My name is Brandon Pinkney and I’m extremely happy to join the staff of AHES as the new Principal. I’m very passionate about education and I look forward to partnering with you to provide our students with a rigorous, engaging, and high-quality elementary school experience. As the guardian of a teenage boy, I recognize the importance of a strong home-school connection. Parents are every child’s first teacher and I believe that by working together, we can make sure your child’s social, emotional, and academic needs are met.
Before joining AHES, I served in a variety of teaching and educational leadership roles over the past 11 years, primarily with the Baltimore City Public School System. Some of the roles I have held include classroom teacher, literacy coach/staff developer, 6-12 assistant principal, 4-8 school improvement administrator, and principal of a Charter School. My academic background includes a Master of Education in Reading Specialization, a Certificate in Admin I and Admin II, a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, and completion of coursework in an EdD. in Urban Educational Leadership.
I believe that great schools are the results of great teachers, so my primary objective will be to ensure that every student is receiving high-quality instruction from every teacher at AHES. In order to do this, I will provide teachers with feedback on their instruction, access to professional development, and strategies with how to effectively reach out to parents for support with academic and behavioral concerns to ensure that our students are prepared for college and 21st century careers.
I will work closely with our Climate, Literacy, Mathematics, and Special Education Leads to guarantee that all of our scholars are intellectually challenged and have access to the social and emotional support critical to students during their elementary years. Please continue to show your support by attending all school-wide activities and parent meetings.
Thank you for the opportunity to serve your families in this role! Please do not hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions, concerns, or ideas you would like to share. I can be reached at the main office at 410-396-0520 or by email: firstname.lastname@example.org
