Welcome to the 2008 Benefits Open Enrollment!
The Baltimore City Public School System’s (BCPSS) Office of Benefits Management (OBM) and Information Technology Department (ITD) are proud to present Benefits Self-Service to our valued BCPSS employees! Benefits Self-Service is a robust tool that provides all Baltimore City Public School System employees with online access to their benefits data via the Baltimore City Public School System's Intranet or through the Internet with a unique employee authorized log-on. This tool will help the Baltimore City Public School System achieve its goal of ensuring that accurate and current employee information is available in the Human Resources Management System (HRMS). The 2008 Open Enrollment is from October 22, 2007 through November 9, 2007. There will be no extensions made to this timeline.
Benefits Self-Service will be available to BCPSS employees Sunday through Saturday from 6:00 A.M. to 11:30 P.M. BCPSS employees may enroll in or waive coverage for medical, prescription, dental, vision, optional life insurance, accidental death and dismemberment (ADD), and the dependent care flexible spending account. The benefit elections made during open enrollment will be effective beginning on January 1, 2008 through December 31, 2008.
Benefits Self-Service is the single point of entry for all benefits administration activities. Each BCPSS employee is empowered to view, update, and maintain his\her own benefits data in a paperless environment, which will in turn drive improved employee services across the BCPSS enterprise.
Benefits Self-Service will enable the Baltimore City Public School System to:
- Provide BCPSS employees with online access to all of their benefits programs.
- Facilitate the process for BCPSS employees to communicate their benefit choices online including elections and confirmation statements.
- Provide BCPSS employees with access to complete benefits information and transactions from a single web page and with a single sign-on.
