Targeted Assistance Program
- A supplemental instructional service program, tailor-made to ensure that eligible students are successful in meeting state academic standards
- Services based entirely on low achievement and not low income
- Primary consideration is on providing extended learning time such as the extended school year, before and after school programs and summer programs
- Supports an accelerated, high quality curriculum, including applied learning
- Minimizes removing children from the regular classroom during regular school hours for instruction provided under Title I
- Implements strategies to increase parental involvement such as family literacy services
- Coordinates and integrates federal, state, and local services and programs for violence prevention, nutrition, housing, Head Start, adult education, vocational and technical education, and job training
