Parent Choice Transfer Option (PCTO)

• Offers parents the choice of transferring their child from a Title I school that has not met AYP to another city school that is making adequate yearly progress.
• Transportation is provided by the school system
• The school district has the right to identify the possible receiving schools and must take into consideration the factor of space availability when presenting the transfer option to parents.       
• Available to all students enrolled in a Title I school identified for improvement, corrective action, or restructuring.

Parents can obtain Parent Choice Transfer Applications, generally available in early June, through several means:

• Office of Federal Programs/Title I, Rm. 315, 200 E. North Ave.
• Directly from the child’s school

All completed applications should be returned to the Office of Federal Programs/Title 1 in one of the following ways:
