The Nutrition Programs

The Baltimore City Public Schools System (BCPSS) participates in several federal United StatesBCPSS Nutrion Image Department of Agriculture (USDA) nutrition programs. To help defray costs and provide our students with nutritious meals and snacks during the school year, the BCPSS is a participant in the National School Lunch, National School Breakfast, and After- School Snack Programs. Not wanting any of our students to go hungry over the summer, the BCPSS also participates in the Summer Food Service Program.

All meals and snacks must meet federal guidelines and each year the Nutrition Services Department is reviewed by the state for federal meal compliance.  For more information about USDA Guidelines, please visit USDA DIETARY GUIDELINES.
