Home Schooling

Dear Parent/Guardian:

The Baltimore City Public School System, in concert with the Maryland State Department of Education, supports the Home Instruction Bylaw; (COMAR 13A.10.01.05).
If you wish to educate your child or children under the above Home Instruction Bylaw, it is necessary to complete the Home Schooling Notification Form and return it as soon as possible.In keeping with the Maryland Attendance Laws, all students must remain in school until  parents or guardians receive an official enrollment letter from the Home Schooling Office.

Home Schooling Information

If you decide to home school your child or children under the above Home School Bylaw, please complete the Home Schooling Notification Form as instructed. Direct additional questions regarding umbrella organizations registered in Maryland to Leigh Rutter at 410-767-0407. Ms Rutter is located at the Maryland State Department of Education. Submit your completed Notification Form to the Home Schooling Office 15 days prior to the day you plan to begin home schooling.
